mission statement of the museum states, "The Rosenbach
Museum & Library seeks to inspire curiosity, inquiry
and creativity by engaging broad audiences in exhibitions,
programs, and research based on its remarkable and expanding collections.“ The
museum is fulfilling its mission because the collections are accessible
to a broad audience, it offers numerous educational
programs both at schools and at the museum itself, artist-in-residence
projects, and adult courses.

Not
only is the museum two adjacent townhouses but they are both three
florrs. The one house is filled with the many collections
from the Rosenbach brothers, while the newest house
or The Maurice Sendak Building consists of; state of
the art storage facilities, a exhibition gallery,
a gift shop, and space for special events.
